comedy

I have performed and taught comedy at UCB for one hundred of your Earth “years” and I’ve worked at BuzzFeed, so along the way I’ve appeared in an internet’s worth of comedy videos on various platforms. Here are a few of my favorites.

THE HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE OF MS. PAC-MAN (BuzzFeed)

I stand by every word of this video that I wrote, voiced, and directed for BuzzFeed, which postulates an unlikely feminist hero for the early 1980s.

THE MARK AND ARI 3-MINUTE SKETCH SHOW: “HOUSE HUNTERS”

A shy ghost; Brooklyn’s most indecisive family searches for a home.

VH-1: MINI HIGHLIGHT REEL

I have appeared as a pop-culture talking head on nearly 100 of these VH-1 shows, which if you recall was sort of all VH-1 did back in the 2000s. Here are some jokes from a few of them.

STANDUP: “CHAKA KHAN”

I used to do a lot of standup before I had kids and moved to California. Here’s me telling a joke about the immortal Chaka Khan at Caroline’s Comedy Club in NYC.

SMALL WORLD (JibJab)

Directed by the legendary John Landis (Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Coming to America) and featured on The Tonight Show.

THE MARK AND ARI 3-MINUTE SKETCH SHOW: “LOST HOLLYWOOD”

The director’s cut of WarGames (1983) ends abruptly; outtakes from The Adventures of Superman (1952).

NEWSERS (pilot)

Written with Mark Sarian and directed by Mitch Magee, Newsers was an official selection featured in the New York Television Festival.

MARK AND ARI BIO VIDEO: BETTER LIVING THROUGH COMEDY

Where does comedy come from? How is it made? Turns out most comedy comes from two young comediologists, Mark and Ari!
